Kaduna teachers’ competency test: The untold story

Kaduna teachers’ competency test: The untold story

November 24, 2017

BY ISAH ABBAS AHMED

Recently, Kaduna State Governor was quoted saying about 21,780 out of 33,000 Kaduna State teachers failed primary four test conducted by the state government to know the ability of the teachers. Questions were drawn from different areas with only that of religious knowledge teachers set focusing on their subjects.

To be fair to both the governor and primary school teachers, I decided to keep mute until I lay my hands on the scoresheet of the competency test, which I was privileged to get last week. While going through the scoresheet, I discovered that, unlike 33,000 teachers mentioned by the governor, 34,197 (4,940 Arabic/IRK, 1,638 CRK and 27,629 other subjects) teachers actually wrote the competency test (Table 2).

As howled by many, the cut-off mark set by the Governor as pass mark did not comply with West African Standard Grading System where acceptable Credit mark starts from 50% not 75% as used by the governor (Table 1). If we take this standard grading system as the ideal situation, from the scoresheet, it can be deduced that; of the 34,197 teachers, 31,102 (91%) passed while only 3,095 (9%) failed the competency test. However, if we decide to stick to the governors cut-off mark, going by the categorization in the summary from the attached scoresheet, it can be deduced that 17,473 (51%) of the 34,197 teachers scored 70 – 100% while 16,724 (49%) failed according to him. In addition, to arrive at the number El-Rufa’i was quoted saying they failed his test, there are 5,056 teachers who scored 70 – 74% and are also categorized as failed by him.

In every sane system, we expect that whenever a test of this nature was conducted, there will be those who will pass overwhelmingly, those who will be within average and those who will fail completely. In this case, what I expected the Governor to do, while still going by his cut-off mark (75%), is to take these categories and acted thus:

1. The 12,417 teachers who scored at least 75% should be retained.

2. The 18,685 teachers who scored 50 – 74% should be subjected to extensive training and re-tested after which if they failed to improve, should be redeployed to other available places to work.

3. The 3,095 teachers who scored 0 – 49% should be redeployed or sacked as the Governor deem fit.

WRONGLY TOTALLED SCORES

After obtaining the scoresheet of Kaduna State’s controversial Competency Test, I decided to verify marks obtained by each participant starting with that of Arabic/IRK Teachers in Zaria Local Government. There are five questions whose marks are distributed thus; Question 1 carries 40 marks while Questions 2, 3, 4 and 5 carries 15 marks each. These, if totaled, will give you 100 marks.

While verifying the scoresheet, on the very first record, I discovered that the Total did not speak to the individual marks obtained for each question. That is, the person scored 38/40, 09/15, 13/15, 12/15 and 14/15 in questions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 respectively. Applying simple arithmetic of 38+9+13+12+14 will give you total of 86% marks obtained not 72% as recorded for same person.

Following this, I decided to focus on those with low marks and to my surprise, 99.9% of their marks were wrongly computed. I then stopped at the fifth page after discovering that 45 (See table 3) out of the 161 records had this same problem and almost all of them turned out score at least 75% but were wrongly recorded to have scored less than 75% which puts them at ‘Failed” category.

With this, I will like to call on NUT officials of all the 23 LGAs to sit down and follow their scoresheet diligently and painstakingly verify the summation. This will drastically bring down the failure rate.

To Governor El-Rufai, I will like to draw your attention to this and recommend that you punish the consulting company you hired to conduct this test for making you portray our dear state bad in the eyes of the world using wrong statistics. In addition, it will be nice if you ask another firm to verify simple summation of the marks obtained in order to get correct proportions. Finally, I wish to categorically state that you owe good people of Kaduna State undiluted apology for painting us black where we are not.

Pictures of the first 5-pages of Zaria LGA Arabic/IRK Teachers scoresheet are attached for public consumption. All the 45 records I verified are indicated therein. Anybody who wish to, can do the totals to further confirm my claim.

Kaduna State still remains “Center of Learning”!

THE KISS OF THE MARRIED WOMAN THAT EVENTUALLY SCATTERED MUGABE’Ś KINGDOM. A LESSON TO ALL MEN.

Now, it’s difficult to piece together what is going to become of Zimbabwe after now, however history gives us a peek at the key actors in the drama currently playing out.

Now, this is the story you dont’t know.
Mugabe the deposed President of Zimbabwe, Constantine Chiwenga the Head of the Zimbabwean Military and Mnangagwa the sacked Vice President of Zimbabwe are all friends, very good friends, they are comrades. The three men were in their 20’s when they entered the bushes and took part in the liberation struggle to free Zimbabwe from white rule. Mugabe who was initially the Sect General of ZANU PF, became the head of state, the other two men were equally given plum positions of power and have continued as the 3 musketeers presiding over the destiny of Zimbabwe for 37 years.
Sometime in the 90’s – Mugabe, the first musketeer fell in love with his personal secretary who happened to be another man’s wife at the time, the lady’s name was Grace and she became his mistress. While Mugabe was still married Grace had children for him. In 1996 they became man and wife after the death of Mugabe’s first spouse.

But Grace was no ordinary mistress turned wife, she was not ready to take a backseat, she turned herself into Mugabe’s political confidant, she used the bed and made her way to the very centre of Zimbabwean politics straining the relationship between Mugabe and his two comrades.

Mnangagwa the 2nd musketeer after many years of loyalty became Mugabe’s Vice President in 2014, paving the way for his eventual hold on power should Mugabe retire, resign or die. But Grace had other ideas she wangled her way into ZANU PF’s politburo and began her move to take out Mnangagwa and take power from her ailing husband.

In August 2017 Mnangagwa accused certain persons in the party of trying to poison him and made references to Grace. This didn’t go down well with Mugabe, how could anyone accuse his beautiful Serengeti Rose flower. What Mugabe forgot was that boys are allowed to fight but the brotherhood must stay strong and united. In a move that shocked everyone (but didn’t shock his beloved Grace) , he removed Mnangagwa from the position of Vice President, Mnangagwa not sure of what Grace will do to him fled to South Africa.
Now  comes the 3rd musketeer Chiwenga Head of the Zimbabwaean military, a friend and brother of both Mugabe and Mnangagwa, “this is all the fault of one woman”, he is probably thinking in his mind, ” we were one until this woman came. I trust Mnangagwa to takeover, I don’t know this woman; by the way, where was she when we were sleeping in the bushes before the liberation”.

Chiwenga sends a warning to Mugabe advising him to put his house in order, the first time he has ever spoken this way to his senior comrade. Thinking Mugabe will take the signal, call him, negotiate and talk things over a cup of tea. NO! Mugabe does the exact opposite, he sends his Minister of Information to tell the Army General to stay out of State matters, Mugabe then finalises plans to sack Chiwenga perhaps to pave an unhindered route to the throne for Grace.
The military chief thought this had gone too far his brother and comrade in arms had drunk deep from the strange woman’s bosom, it’s wasn’t him acting any longer , so he rolled out his tanks early this morning. He’s therefore right when he says,”this is not a coup” ; when you really look at it, 3 friends have only fallen out over the inordinate ambitions of a woman.
Latest reportś say Mnangagwa the 2nd Musketeer is on his way back from South Africa, i’ve just read a report he’s going to be installed interim President. The 1st Musketter Mugabe is under house arrest. The 3rd Musketter is in the saddle promising calm and quick elections. The 3 men have held Zimbabwe under lock and key for 37yrs, this is nothing but a change of baton. Zimbabwe needs a real revolution out of the hands of the veterans of the liberation struggle. No doubt in the 21st century Zimbabwe is the frozen out Animal Farm in George Orwells celebrated work.
Meanwhile the woman Grace, who started the whole katakata, I hear has fled the country leaving her beloved husband who sacrificed everything, to face an uncertain fate.

16m Zimbabweans could not remove Mugabe but a woman did.
Mama was always right when she always told me, “son – be careful who you fall in love with and eventually marry”.

A lesson to all men!!

Turmeric: 8 New Surprising Health Benefits Discover how turmeric can protect your brain, joints, heart & more

Turmeric has been revered for its healing powers since ancient times, but it’s only in recent years that its remarkably diverse range of health benefits has come to light.

One benefit in particular has emerged from the research that has astonished neurologists and cognitive health scientists alike. And if you’re concerned about maintaining the health of your brain as you age, you’ll surely be interested in learning about it.

Losing one’s memory and mental abilities to menacing brain plaques or other cognitive issues is something we all fear, and the current statistics on the prevalence of cognitive decline in this country are not pretty. By age 65, sadly 1 in 9 Americans will suffer from severe cognitive decline, and by age 85, an astonishing 1 in 3 will.[1]

Researchers have been working for years to develop an effective treatment. But one “miracle” drug after another has failed to live up to its promises, and it’s becoming more and more apparent that pharmaceuticals are not the solution. Unfortunately, the medical establishment is so narrowly focused on finding an elusive “cure” that scientifically proven prevention strategies are often ignored.

Please keep reading, because I’ll tell you about an amazingly effective way to protect your brain from the ravages of cognitive decline and boost your thinking and memory abilities quickly, naturally and safely.

Nature’s Brain-Protecting Miracle

There are a number of natural brain protectors out there, but did you know that one herb has shown more promise when it comes to supporting your neurological system than any other medical finding to date? It’s a scientific fact that curcumin, an antioxidant compound found in the root of the turmeric plant, is one of the most powerful natural brain protecting substances on the planet. It continues to amaze scientists with its remarkable cognitive health benefits.

You may be familiar with turmeric as the bright yellow spice that is commonly found in curry powder. Turmeric has a long history as a healing herb and culinary spice in India. Interestingly, India has the highest per capita consumption of turmeric AND the lowest incidence of cognitive decline worldwide.[2]

Your Brain on Curcumin

The hallmark process associated with certain types of cognitive decline is the formation in the brain of abnormal protein structures. Normally when malformed proteins are formed with the brain, the immune system sends out cells known as macrophages, which engulf and destroy the proteins. If this ordinary function fails, defective proteins accumulate in the brain and cognitive decline can follow.

That’s why I was excited to read that recent research is showing that curcumin encourages the immune system to send macrophages to the brain. A landmark clinical trial involving people with severe cognitive decline measured the effects of curcumin. Amazingly, the participants taking curcumin had significantly higher levels of dissolved abnormal proteins in their blood compared to those in the placebo group.

This study showed that curcumin has the ability to effectively pass into the brain, bind to beta-amyloid plaques and assist the body in their breakdown.[3] Curcumin is one of the only substances known to have such a profound protective effect on the brain.

8 Incredible Health Benefits of Turmeric

Boost Cognitive Function: Curcumin protects brain cells by binding to and dissolving abnormal proteins.

Fights Body-Wide Inflammation: Curcumin has been proven to significantly lower levels of inflammatory markers.

Supports Cardiovascular Function: Curcumin supports heart health by promoting a healthy inflammatory response.

Promotes Youthful Radiant Skin: Curcumin promotes soft, smooth and glowing skin and fights fine lines and wrinkles.

Supports Joint & Muscle Health: Curcumin promotes a healthy inflammatory response and eases aches and pains.

Boosts Detoxification: Curcumin optimizes function of the liver, the body’s primary organ of detoxification.

Promotes Healthy Mood Balance: Curcumin has been shown to be an extremely effective natural mood enhancer.

Supports Natural Weight Loss: Curcumin can enhance weight loss when combined with healthy diet and exercise.

Black Pepper Enhances Bioavailability of Turmeric

Research suggests that taking an extract of black pepper called piperine with curcumin can boost absorption, amplifying curcumin’s impressive ability to curb inflammation, protect the brain and revitalize health. Despite curcumin’s remarkable health benefits, it has the drawback of being difficult for the body to absorb. But according to a study published in Planta Medica, when 20mg of black pepper extract is administered together with curcumin, it boosts the bioavailability of the turmeric-derived compound by 2,000%.

Curcumin Combats Dangerous Inflammation

You may have heard about the dangers of “silent” chronic inflammation. It’s been discussed by Dr. Oz and has made headlines in publications such as Newsweek and Time. It’s important for you to know that low-grade inflammation is rapidly becoming recognized as the root cause of the development of cognitive decline, as well as a wide range of serious health problems.[4]

Unfortunately, most people don’t do anything until the initial symptoms, such as muscle aches and joint discomfort, appear. When this happens, their gut reaction often is to go see a doctor, who is unlikely to correctly diagnose the problem, and more than likely will prescribe drugs that are far from safe and only provide short-term benefits.

But the initial symptoms of pain are just the beginning. If left unchecked, chronic inflammation can damage your body in many ways. One of the worst examples of this is cognitive decline, which can ravage your memory and severely impact your quality of life in what should be your golden years.

8 Ways Chronic Inflammation Can Damage Your Body

  1. Memory loss and cognitive decline
  2. Increased cardiovascular risk
  3. Joint pain and loss of mobility
  4. Abnormal growth of healthy cells
  5. Weight gain
  6. Loss of muscle tone
  7. Accelerated skin aging and wrinkles
  8. Compromised digestive function

Cutting-edge science is showing that curcumin is one of the most powerful, natural anti-inflammatories ever studied. Curcumin is so effective because it is a potent inhibitor of the body’s most powerful inflammation-causing chemical, called Nf-kappa beta. Miraculously, curcumin has been shown in numerous studies to tame joint pain and muscle soreness, protect the brain, support cardiovascular health, bolster immunity and more.[5,6,7,8,9] If you have a lingering health problem that no doctor can resolve, you may be suffering from chronic inflammation and curcumin may be just the natural solution you’ve been looking for

HOW I LOST MY GIRLFRIEND.

Take your time to read THROUGH PLEASE:
IF THERE IS ANYONE I WANT TO SEE AGAIN, IT IS
THAT YOUNG MAN OF GOD WHO MADE ME LOSE THE
GIRLFRIEND I LOVED SO MUCH.
She loved me to the point that she was ready to be
disowned by her parents when they wanted her to
marry a rich politician’s son and she refused.
The love was simply so
much…She visited me for a weekend and I took her
to a program in a church where I was invited…
The two Guest Speakers for the 1st and 2nd days were
wonderful…We laughed and shouted Fire and even
sowed seeds of greatness… And I took my girlfriend
back to my house…
But the guest speaker that came on the last day was the one that caused the whole program to turn sour for me… He did not wear any big shoe or expensive suit… His hair cut was even scattered…
Unlike other guests, he did not have any escort or
security But I noticed that the moment he climbed
the pulpit, the atmosphere changed…
He started singing this song: # “Something more than gold… Something more than silver…
The Word of God in the heart of a believer, is
something more than gold”… And within 5 minutes, I began to see something like a mist, like a thick cloud inside that auditorium…
It was as if, millions of voices were singing that song at the same time. It was not long before I began to hear cries of men and women, boys and girls…: and yet, he had not opened the Bible… The church hall was tense… You would wonder if this was the same church we had been coming to for the past 2days…
“Lord, help me”…
“Forgive me Jesus… “
” Don’t leave me this way”
“Jesus, I need You back… “
” Holy spirit, break me… And use me… “
These and more were the deep cries I was hearing
from people around where I was sitting…
The choristers who were backing up the songs were
slain…
Some of them did not know when they began to
shout, through the microphone:” Lord, show me your mercy… “Some were shouting:” I need your revival, Lord… Will you leave me this way”?
I was afraid to open my eyes… The Glory inside that house was too much… When i managed to open my eyes, I didn’t see anybody standing… I was the only one on my feet…
The pastor that hosted the program was on the floor, in front of the church, with his wife…
The Assistant Pastors were with him in front of the
church, crying,… The Preacher was lying flat, crying on the altar… Nobody could know who was the
Preacher and who was the speaker…As a Preacher’s
kid, born inside the church, I have seen revivals… I
have seen the move of God’s power… But, never in
my life had I seen such manifest Presence of
God…And for more than 1:45 minutes, people were
rolling on the floor, crying their hearts out… Yet, the
guest minister did not open the Bible…
I was still standing, looking around for my girlfriend… But I could not find her…
When I went outside… I saw her, lying on the floor, flat, crying… As I tried to pull her
up, thinking that something might have hurt her… I
saw her blouse soaked with tears… Her voice was
already cracked… She had cried her heart out…I did
not care to wait for the service to close … I managed to guide her back to my house… And throughout that short journey, on the road, she was weeping like a
child…
When we got home and she managed to sleep, right from her sleep, at short intervals, she began to sob, crying out from sleep… And before long, the pillow was already soaked…
The encounter she had in the church followed her home… And it continued like that for 3 days…
She was unable to eat anything…
In one of those nights, as she was praying and crying, she burst into tongues… She was crying and was blasting tongues, for more than 4 hours… How can I forget? The morning of the 3rd day, she told me: “Felix, when that young pastor was
singing that song… My eyes were opened and I saw
Jesus for the first time in my life… I saw the kind of
splendor I cannot explain… I saw His wounds… I saw
Him on the Cross… I saw Him calling me to surrender my life to Him….
Felix, something has
happened to me… And I am no more that same person.” The more I tried to cuddle her, the more she was running from my arms…
She asked me: “Felix , did you not feel what I felt? Did you not see what I saw? What I saw is worth more than the whole world. I saw a Crown that I cannot lose… Felix,  i have to surrender to Jesus… I have to pack my
things now…”
Before 30 minutes, she had picked her few things and about to go… As she was leaving, we were both in tears…
She told me: “FELIX, I know I love you and you love me too…. But I have to let you go.
At this moment, I have surrendered to Jesus…. It will be better to lose you than to lose that Crown that I saw… “
Tears had dried on our bodies and fresh ones were coming. I could not even stop her…
The girl I knew before had changed… Her face was radiant… It dawned on me that that young man of God had made me lose the girlfriend I loved so much…
And I was angry…
As I rolled from one part of the bed to the other, alone, inside my room, from morning till night… I began to blame myself for taking her along to that program…
Don’t blame me… I was not
born again then…Where else was I going to see another girl who would love me like her?
I was furious… Yes, but deep down in my heart, I knew that she had met God…
I knew that this was exactly how it used to be in 1980s and 90s…
On my own, I began to tell God: “If I will ever become a Preacher someday, this is the type I want to be… I will love people to come to my program and lose their girlfriends to God..”
And thank God, in the fullness of time, when it pleased Him to intercept me from a speedy journey
to hell, I understood what happened those days to
my ex girlfriend…
Several times, I have seen that same thing she saw that made her lose me and not care about it.
Friend, if you see what she saw, you will never be afraid to lose any man….
Apostle Paul said that when he fell and stood up on his way to Damascus, ‘I saw no
man’… Why are you afraid for us that we will starve if
we continue with this ‘criticizing’ ministry? Why are you complaining that nobody will host us in his big auditorium and give us big honorarium?
Thanks for your concern brother man… But we can tell the whole world that ‘We too, like Apostle Paul, saw no man’…
We did not see honorarium before we left all and embarked on this journey.. We saw a Crown that we must not lose on the last day…
Many are already wearing their own crowns here… They have forgotten the encounters God used to give them when they first met Jesus…
Lord, anybody can go… I don’t want to lose the glory you showed me! …
We don’t need too many friends…We don’t need those who want to show everyone that they are succeeding in ministry, even when, they are not known in Heaven
Our lives are better with fewer people whose eyes are still on that Crown…
With the help of God, in our weaknesses and fewness, if it please God, we might be able to stop the mouth of lions…
That was how that young man made me to lose my girlfriend..
My friends told me to give her some time that she will run back to me when memories of our sinful past will begin to hunt her…
I waited for months and years, up till now, she did not come back…
Together, with her husband,
they are running a revival ministry in my country
Nigeria… And she too is reading this post now as you are reading it… Aleluiah
Man of God, I don’t know the last time people listened to you and they went back and moved their things out from their boyfriend’s house and that was their last days in sin? When was the last time you preached and boys called their girlfriends on the
phone and told them: “It is over… I have met with
Jesus…. And am gone”,?
In the last crusade where ministered, you came back with car keys… Laptops, I phones and landed documents… But there was no tears for repentance…
Sinners came as Sinners, sowed their seeds as
Sinners and left as Sinners.
When again are we going to see you preach and men will start falling over another, even without altar call, asking God for repentance for their adultery?
Your choristers are already singing with snared hearts…
When are we going to hear somebody say about you, that: “This is that man of God that I heard and I left my sins and did not go back to them again?
Sister, I don’t know what they are telling you in your church every Sunday…
I know you want to shun your evil ways, but the church you submitted to seems not to have a problem with your sinful lifestyle… From year to year, they don’t preach against sin…. Only giving you 100 ways to make wealth, even when you are sinking miserably in sin and addictions…
The abuse of the gospel of miracle visa, miracle marriage, miracle contracts, and fighting of enemies is what brought this demonic wind upon us…
Jacob had all those things and yet, he was crying to God for an encounter…
He had it and that’s why we are still talking about him till now…
Lock your self up this
weekend and cry to God for that same encounter… If
He has not shown up, don’t give up… If my ex girl friend made up her mind to walk out from our relationship, there must be something she saw that’s worth more than me…
Today, she is happily married with wonderful children…
That God she saw that night has not failed her…
That thing she saw has kept her all these years…
I know you are afraid of what will become of you when you cut some ties…
Sister, stop playing church while you are feasting on your vomit…
It’s time to cry for an encounter… How long will you keep falling and rising and falling again?,
It’s time to cry for just one touch of Fire,…
I am sure heaven will not shun your wet eyes and cracked lips.

FREEDAY FREE FOOD FOR FRIENDS’ FREAKING FREETHINKING Vol 544
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN DIRECTED BY THE POLICE TO WRITE A STATEMENT:
If the police ask you to write a statement, which they normally do when they stop you on the road and take you to their station or when they invite you to their station, you should know how to write a good statement that will not implicate you.
First, whether you write a statement as a witness or as a suspect, you must understand that your statement is very likely going to be used against you either in court or for the purpose of blackmail by some officers (not all). Therefore, take your statement writing as a serious matter.
Remember that you have right to refuse to write a statement until your lawyer is present. But this normally leads to argument and hostile reactions from the police, and it may likely be a pretext for them not releasing you immediately.
There are no hard and fast rules as to the content of a statement. It is supposed to be what you know in relation to an incident or the reason for you being brought to the station. Since the statement is not just a general view on anything you like, it is important that you know the reason for which you have been brought to the station.
For those who have been suspected of committing an offense, make sure that before you start writing a statement, you ask the officer the offense for which you have been brought to the station. If he tells you that there is no offense, that they just want you to tell them all you know, you can politely say: No, Sir. The police force is meant to enforce the criminal law. Therefore, the police would not have any justification to bring you to the station except if they suspect that an offense has been committed somewhere by somebody – either you or someone else. And you need to know the offense and the person suspected before you could write your statement.
Also, if you were arrested or invited as a result of a petition written against you, you must demand to read carefully that petition before you start giving your statement.
When you start your statement, make sure you explain in your statement the reason for which you have been asked to make your statement. For instance, you can say something like: “I was stopped while driving my vehicle with registration number xxxxx on ________ street in _______ city. After showing my papers to officer xxxxxxx, I was taken to the police station and informed that my car was suspected of being stolen car”
Then you make your statement. You will see that the police will not like this. But you should be able to state the summary of the circumstances that led to you having to make a statement in the station.
I will say more about writing statements at police stations. For now, just get the idea that you should explain why you are making a statement and the offenses you were told you were suspected of. You should state that in your statement before you begin to write other things
POST SCRIPT: The reason you have to state in your statement the reason for making a statement is obvious. Your statement when read by a third party can only make sense in the context of the matter that prompted the statement. So, if you didn’t state the matter to which your statement relates, the police may change the matter down the line. Initially, you thought you were arrested because of stolen vehicle, but the police later charged it to kidnapping. If a judge is reading your statement in a kidnapping case, he will think you were evading the issues. He will think you were dodging the matter that you don’t want to answer the question. And he will form a negative opinion of you based on your presumably inconclusive and evasive statement . So be careful and be wise

REFLECTIONS…….WHAT AN EPITAPH!
My house was about to be locked, just because I was not able to raise rent. I posted it on Facebook seeking for help, but all I got was 2likes and  0comments.
So I sent 120 messages to friends on my contact list, requesting for a loan of N400,000. Sadly, only 10people replied. 6 out of the 10 claimed they can’t help. Only 1 out of the 4 who said they could help actually gave me some money but the rest only gave me excuses and never picked my calls. Eventually, my house was locked. I have no where to sleep. I walked in the dark, seeking options and suddenly, a heavy storm carried me away. Fast forward, the next day, news quickly spread around that I had died. 2220people posted on my wall how they knew me. How great I was. A committee is formed by my “loyal” friends who quickly raised N1,200,000 via donations, to feed guests at my funeral. My colleagues at work teamed-up and brought another N300,000 for coffin, tents and chairs. I am buried in a coffin worth N100,000 but since they purchased it in a haste, they met a CARTEL who played the role of a middleman and sold it to them for N150,000. My relatives met, it’s a rare occasion for them to meet. For my sendoff they contributed an extra N150,000. Everyone wants to volunteer in order to appear they are helping out. The Youth also, printed T-shirts with my image, each T-Shirt costing N1,500. About 600 youths paid, so the T-shirt man makes N150,000 profit from my death. Everyone wants to speak at my funeral. There was drama all over from people who never knew how I survived. There was rumour that I was murdered by my friends. Also people falsely accused my successful relatives of sacrificing me. Wonderful speeches were made on how talented I was even those who never attended my events. The few friends who supported me in life didn’t get the chance to speak during my funeral although they knew the Truth. Infact, they are prime suspects in my death.
*Moral;*
*Don’t show people love when they are gone. Show love to people while they are alive, so that they can appreciate you…
*Call people when they can pick your call not when they are gone and you pretend by shedding crocodile tears when infact they can not hear you…
#DeepTruth That Hurts.
-Choose to be different:
*Show love to the living.
*Love your neighbour and be your brother’s keeper.
#copied from a friend and shared with you……….. Have a nice day.

INCREASE YOUR VALUE

Michael Jordan was born in 1963, in the slums of Brooklyn, New York.

He had four siblings and his father’s earnings were not sufficient to provide for the whole family.

He grew up in a poor neighbourhood. Exposed to mindless violence and heavy discrimination in the slums, he saw for himself only a hopeless future.

His father saw in Michael, a lost soul and decided to do something.

He gave Michael, who was 13 years old, a piece of used clothing and asked: “What do you think the value of this outfit would be?”

Jordan replied,”Maybe one dollar.”

His father asked, “Can you sell it for two dollars? If you can sell it, it would mean that you are a big help to your family.”

Jordan nodded his head, “I’ll try, but no guarantee that I’ll be successful.”

Jordan carefully washed the cloth clean. Because they didn’t have an iron, to smoothen the cloth, he levelled it with a clothes brush on a flat board, then kept it in the sun to dry. The next day, he brought the clothes to a crowded underground station. After offering it for more than six hours. Jordan finally managed to sell it for $2. He took the two dollar bill and ran home.

After that, everyday he looked for used clothing, washed and ironed it, and sold it in the crowd.

More than ten days later, his father again gave him a piece of used clothing, “Can you think of a way you can sell this for 20 bucks?”

Aghast, Jordan said, “How is it possible? This outfit can only fetch two dollars at the most.”

His father replied, “Why don’t you try it first? There might be a way.”

After breaking his head for a few hours, finally, Jordan got an idea.

He asked for cousin’s helpto paint a picture of Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse on the garment. Then he tried to sell it in the school where the children of the rich study.

Soon a housekeeper, who was there to pick his master, bought that outfit for his master. The master was a little boy of only 10 years. He loved it so much and he gave a five dollar tip. 25 dollars was a huge amount for Jordan, the equivalent of a month’s salary of his father.

When he got home, his father gave him yet another piece of used clothing, “Are you able to resell it at a price of 200 dollars?” Jordan’s eyes lit up.

This time, Jordan accepted the clothes without the slightest doubt. Two months later a popular movie actress from the movie “Charlie’s Angels”, Farah Fawcett came to New York for her Movie promos. After the press conference, Jordan made his way through the security forces to reach the side of Farah Fawcett and requested her autograph on the piece of clothing. When Fawcett saw this innocent child asking for her autograph, she gladly signed it.

Jordan was shouting very excitedly, “This is a jersey signed by Miss Farah Fawcett, the selling price is 200 dollars!” He auctioned off the clothes, to a businessman for a price of 1,200 dollars!

Upon returning home, his father broke into TEARS and said, “I am amazed that you did it My child! You’re really great! ”

That night, Jordan slept alongside his father. His father said, “Son, in your experience selling these three pieces of clothing, what did you learn about success?”

Jordan replied, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

His father nodded his head, then shook his head, “What you say is not entirely wrong! But that was not my intention. I just wanted to show you that a piece of used clothing which is worth only a dollar can also be increased in value, Then how about us – living & thinking humans? We may be darker and poorer, but what if we CAN increase our VALUE.”

This thought enlightened young Jordan. Even a piece of used clothing could be made dignified, then why not me? There is absolutely no reason to underestimate myself.

From then on, Michael Jordan felt that his future would be beautiful and full of hope.

He went on to become the greatest basketball player of all times.

How can I increase my own value? I am finding it a very interesting thought. I am sure, you too, will.

GOD HAS ALREADY SPOKEN!

There are many reasons why God is silent, but I am going to touch on something he recently put on my heart. Sometimes God may be silent simply because he has already spoken to you! If you think about it, how can you accuse God of being silent when he has left you sixty-six letters, thousands of verses? There is no need for him to repeat himself. Aren’t you glad that the book of Genesis doesn’t say, “God said, ‘Let there be light. Let there be light’”?

If you and I had been there on that first day when God said, “Let there be light,” we would have been dancing and rejoicing from 6 o’clock in the morning until about 6 o’clock in the evening.

But suddenly, when it starts to get dark, we begin to panic. “Oh, no, I knew it wouldn’t last! I knew the light was going to go away. Maybe we’ve done something wrong. Maybe we weren’t reading the Word enough.”

The light fades away, and we spend the next twelve hours in sorrow — until the light reappears, and we realize that when God said, “Let there be light,” he didn’t mean that there wouldn’t be night; that there wouldn’t be seasons when we cannot see. He didn’t mean that we would always be able to understand everything that is going on in the heavenly realm. However, the light always reappears, and we see that what God spoke continues to be fulfilled without his having to speak again.

One reason God may be silent is because there is an appointed time for his Word to be fulfilled. One example of this in the Bible is Joseph, who was given the incredible promise that he was going to reign one day. He was going to be a man through whom great provision would be unlocked.

However, there was an appointed time for the fulfillment of the promise and he had to follow God’s plan.

SHORTAGES OF DOCTORS IN NIGERIA : A VERY DIRE SITUATION

Very soon Nigerians will go to Government hospitals and won’t see a Doctor. The health crisis in Nigeria is unprecedented as the mass exodus hits alarming proportions. Already it takes a new patient 2 hours to see a doctor on the average, 3 hours for new patients.
1. Over 100 doctors have resigned from UCH this year
2. 800 Doctors have resigned from Lagos State hospitals over 2 years. 100 this month alone
3. Kebbi State has been unable to employ a single Doctor in 2 years despite multiple adverts for employment
4. Over 200 Doctors and nurses have resigned from Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital this year
5. Nigerian has 80,000 registered Doctors. More than 50,000 are practicing abroad
6. 92% of Nigerian Doctors in Nigeria are considering finding a job abroad
7. 70% of Nigerian Doctors are making plans to leave for foreign lands and are taking exams to that effect
8. 236 Doctors wrote Primaries for West Africa College of physicians in 2017 to gain admission to Nigerian Teaching Hospitals, 5 years ago over 1000 wrote the same exams. 660 wrote PLAB to practice in the UK over this Primaries exam. Over 1000 have registered for the next PLAB.
Across the nation the story is the same. And the scary part is no one seems to be bothered.

Can u judge who is the better person out of these 3 ?

Mr A – He had friendship with bad politicians, consults astrologers, two wives, chain smoker, drinks eight to 10 times a day.

Mr B – He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps till noon, used opium in college & drinks whiskey every evening.

Mr C – He is a decorated war hero, a vegetarian, doesn’t smoke, doesn’t drink and never cheated on his wife and was a painter

You would say Mr.C

right?

But..
Mr. A was Franklin Roosevelt! ( 32nd President of the USA)

Mr. B was Winston Churchill!! (Former British Prime Minister)

Mr C Was ADOLF HITLER!!!

Strange but true..
Its risky to judge anyone by his habits !
Character is a complex phenomenon.

So every person in ur life is important, don’t judge them, accept them.

Here is a list of things you need to teach your Child(ren) at early age:
1: Warn your Girl Child Never to sit on anyone’s laps no matter the situation including uncles.
2: Avoid Getting Dressed in front of your child once he/she is 2 years old. Learn to excuse them or yourself.
3. Never allow any adult refer to your child as ‘my wife’ or ‘my husband’
4. Whenever your child goes out to play with friends make sure you look for a way to find out what kind of play they do, because young people now sexually abuse themselves.
5. Never force your child to visit any adult he or she is not comfortable with and also be observant if your child becomes too fond of a particular adult.
6. Once a very lively child suddenly becomes withdrawn you may need to patiently ask lots of questions from your child.
7. Carefully educate your grown ups about the right values of sex . If you don’t, the society will teach them the wrong values.
8: It is always advisable you go through any new Material like cartoons you just bought for them before they start seeing it themselves.
9. Ensure you activate parental controls on your cable networks and advice your friends especially those your child(ren) visit(s) often.
10. Teach your 3 year olds how to wash their private parts properly and warn them never to allow anyone touch those areas and that includes you (remember, charity begins from home and with you).
11: Blacklist some materials/associates you think could threaten the sanity of your child (this includes music, movies and even friends and families).
12. Let your child(ren) understand the value of standing out of the crowd.
13: Once your child complains about a particular person, don’t keep quiet about it. Take up the case and show them you can defend them. Remember, we are either parents or parents-to-be. And must share to all friends who have children

HOW TO RELATE WITH YOUR CHILD
By Dr Bukola Williams

In psychology, it has been established that a child’s personality would have formed by the age of 5. This gives insight into how to relate with a child and as he/she grows up.
1. Be a parent to the child between birth and 12 years of age. This is when the spankings, etc can come in. Whatever you don’t correct at this age, forget about correcting later. Correct their perceptions, their orientations, etc. Be available to physically incorporate values into them.
2. From the age of 13-19, you are to be a friend to them.
Many parents want to do core parenting at this age range. If you didn’t achieve that earlier, you may not succeed outrightly here.
Note that one significant factor that can help the child at this phase is the God-factor. If they find God at this age or earlier, they will likely stick to Him forever.
3. From age 20 and above, the best you can be to the ‘child’ is a mentor.
At this phase, be an inspiration to him/her. Let your life inspire him/her. Let your marriage inspire. Inspire them to do things rather than wanting to push your way through. You cannot be adopting spanking and slappings at this age. That is if you are not slapped back. Because if you did a good job, you won’t have to be slapping a 25 year old.

Conclusion…
1. Never stop praying for your child however old they grow. Never stop committing them to God’s hands.
2. Never stop being a parent no matter how old they grow, but don’t forget that life is in phases and maximize every phase of their lives by the right approach. Your child is not just the body you see but a soul with an eternity. Parents have a role to play in where that eternity would be.

Enhance your character, my friend;
Prosperity may depart from one’s home,
Beauty may retreat from the body,
And today’s rich could become poor tomorrow.
Prosperity is like ocean surf; and wealth is an ocean wave,
They come and go from one’s home as they Pleases,
But, only good character follows one to the grave.
Money is not everything to someone,
Good character is the beauty of a mortal.
What if you are wealthy without good character?
Who would trust you with something serious?
Perhaps, you are a gorgeous woman;
If you are far from societal norms,
Who would marry you as a wife?
Or you are a fraudulent person;
May be you are well educated,
Who would transact business with you?
Enhance your character, my friend,
In the absence of character, education is a waste;
The whole world appreciates a well mannered person.

5 THINGS YOU PROBABLY NEVER KNEW YOUR MOBILE PHONE COULD DO !!!
Very useful
In grave emergencies, your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival.
1. Emergency Services

The Emergency No. worldwide for all Mobile Phones is 112.
If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and your mobile will search any existing network in your area to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. This works on all phones worldwide and is free.
2. Locked your keys in the car?

If you lock your remote keyless car keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their mobile phone from your cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button on the spare key, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you.
Distance is no object. You could be thousands of miles away.
Editor’s Note: I didn’t believe this when I heard about it! I rang my daughter in Sydney from Perth when we went on holiday. She had the spare car key. We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a mobile phone!
3. Is your mobile phone battery flat ? All handphone have Hidden Battery Power.

To activate, press the keys *3370# (remember the asterisk). Do this when the phone is almost dead. Your mobile will restart in a special way with this new reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery life. This reserve will be recharged when you charge your handphone next time.
This secret is in the fine print in most phone manuals which we skip without realizing.
4. Disabling a STOLEN mobile.

To check your handphone’s serial number, key in following digits on your phone:
* # 0 6 #
Ensure you put an asterisk BEFORE the #06# sequence.
A 15 digits code will appear on the screen that is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. If your handphone is ever stolen, phone your service provider and give them this code.
They will then be able to block your handset so even if the SIM is changed, your handphone will be totally useless. And even if you don’t get your phone back, at least it can’t use/resold either. If everybody did this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.
This secret is also in the fine print of most mobile phone manuals. It was created for the very purpose of trying to prevent phones from being stolen.
5. ATM PIN Number Reversal – Good to Know !!!

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your PIN # in reverse. For example, if your pin number is 1234, then you would put in 4321. The ATM system recognizes that your PIN number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine. The machine will still give you the money you requested but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to the location. All ATM’s carry this emergency sequencer by law.
This information was recently broadcast by Crime Stoppers. It is, however, seldom used as people just don’t know about it.

POWER OF MONEY

By Adam Khoo (Singapore ‘s youngest millionaire at 26 years of age)

Some of you may already know that I travel around the region pretty frequently, having to visit and conduct seminars at my offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Suzhou (China). I am in the airport almost every other week so I get to bump into many people who have attended my seminars or have read my books.

Recently, someone came up to me on a plane to KL and looked rather shocked. He asked, ‘How come a millionaire like you is traveling economy?’ My reply was, ‘That’s why I am a millionaire.’ He still looked pretty confused.

This again confirms that greatest lie ever told about wealth (which I wrote about in my latest book ‘Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires’). Many people have been brainwashed to think that millionaires have to wear Gucci, Hugo Boss, Rolex, and sit on first class in air travel. This is why so many people never become rich because the moment they earn more money, they think that it is only natural that they spend more, putting them back to square one.

The truth is that most self-made millionaires are frugal and only spend on what is necessary and of value. That is why they are able to accumulate and multiply their wealth so much faster.

Over the last 7 years, I have saved about 80% of my income while today I save only about 60% (because I have my wife, mother in law, 2 maids, 2 kids, etc. to support). Still, it is way above most people who save 10% of their income (if they are lucky).

I refuse to buy a first class ticket or to buy a $300 shirt because I think that it is a complete waste of money. However, I happily pay $1,300 to send my 2-year old daughter to Julia Gabriel Speech and Drama without thinking twice.

When I joined the YEO (Young Entrepreneur’s Organisation) a few years back (YEO is an exclusive club open to those who are under 40 and make over $1m a year in their own business), I discovered that those who were self-made thought like me. Many of them with net worth well over $5 million, travelled economy class and some even drove Toyotas and Nissans, not Audis, Mercedes, BMWs.

I noticed that it was only those who never had to work hard to build their own wealth (there were also a few ministers’ and tycoons’ sons in the club) who spent like there was no tomorrow. Somehow, when you did not have to build everything from scratch, you do not really value money. This is precisely the reason why a family’s wealth (no matter how much) rarely lasts past the third generation.

Thank God my rich dad foresaw this terrible possibility and refused to give me a cent to start my business.

Then some people ask me, ‘What is the point in making so much money if you don’t enjoy it?’ The thing is that I don’t really find happiness in buying branded clothes, jewellery or sitting first class. Even if buying something makes me happy it is only for a while, it does not last.

Material happiness never lasts, it just gives you a quick fix. After a while you feel lousy again and have to buy the next thing which you think will make you happy. I always think that if you need material things to make you happy, then you live a pretty sad and unfulfilled life..

Instead, what makes me happy is
when I see my children laughing and playing and learning so fast.
What makes me happy is when I see my companies and trainers reaching more and more people every year in so many more countries.

What makes me really happy is when I read all the emails about how my books and seminars have touched and inspired someone’s life.

What makes me really happy is reading all your wonderful posts about how this blog is inspiring you. This happiness makes me feel really good for a long time, much much more than what a Rolex would do for me.

I think the point I want to put across is that happiness must come from doing your life’s work (be it teaching, building homes, designing, trading, winning tournaments etc.) and the money that comes is only a by-product.

PDP around the world.

In all, there has been about 32 political parties by the name People’s Democratic party and one thing is common to them all in history.

They all didn’t last up to 30 years and less than 5% of all the parties can be regarded as successful. The most successful is the Nigerian PDP.

Most of the parties died as a result of rejection from the people they sought to govern or misused their opportunities.

*ARE U ONE OF US?*

Hilarious truth:

The people born between 1940-1980 in Nigeria and other African countries are the blessed ones… We are the awesome people… Our life is a living proof.

While playing and riding rented bicycle, we never bothered to wear helmets. We played marbles, steycions (seed of agbalumo; what is the English of agbalumo self: did you say cherry,?), skipping ropes, clapping (Ooya, 10-10), bojuboju ooo, tàlowá ni’nu Ogba na? Etc.

After school time we played until dusk but never watched the world (TV) by locking ourselves up in a room. We played only with our real friends, not with face book friends.

If we ever felt thirsty, we drank tap water, bottled water didn’t exist. We never got ill even after sharing the same juice or tree top with four friends.

We didn’t put on weight even after eating plate full of sweets, eba, amala, koko, Monday to Saturday (but on Friday at schools, dodo ati rice (raisi). On Sundays only, we had bongo ordinary tea with bread or yam. On special days (Xmas. New Year, Easter, Maulud Nabiy, Eidil Fitri/Ileya, we had Jollof rice (raisi) for lunch

We jolly well ate Saara anywhere with fresh chicken legs, head and wings, Turkey kę?

Nothing happened to our feet even after roaming and kicking ball made of rags bare footed. We never used any health supplements to keep ourselves healthy.

We used to create our own toys, omolangidi, we built our truxks with empty St Louis sugar carton and milk tins. Our school uniform was khaki, can you still remember pata olokun, pade mi lejika and full rubber etc?

Our parents were not rich, and they never chased after money.

They just searched for and gave only love.. not any worldly possession. We never shared our emotions by using emoticons in mobile phones.

We never had cellphones, DVDs, Play stations, X-Boxes, video games, personal computers, internet, web chatting, but we had many good friends.

We used to visit our friend’s home unannounced and enjoyed food with them. We never had to call them and ask for their parents permission to visit their home.

Loving people were near to us so our hearts and souls were happy. Hence we never required any insurance policy.

We might have been in Black and White photos but you find colourful memories in them

The Ultimate is that we are a unique and the most understanding generation, because we are the last generation that listened to their parents and also the first that have to listen to their children.

We are the last set of people to treck kilometers bare footed to school, carrying metal portmoto on our heads and yet carry our children to school in cars or by drivers.

The last generation to enjoy free public school education but the first to horribly pay to train children in private schools.

We had less homework in our days so we could help our parents in home duties but have to assist our kids in their homework who cannot assist parents or maids in home duties.

We are not special, but a *LIMITED EDITION* and I am proud I belong to this noble generation.

LOST BUT NOT FOUND!

She gave her car key to the youngest child in the car while she went to buy some stuff in the mall.

Upon her return, the boy had misplaced the key and the whole family was stranded on the road. Observing her discomfort with innocent kids without a masculine shepherd, I joined the search party.

For each passing minute without the key, she landed the boy that had the key with a slap or a concentrated curse!

After few minutes, she strayed in frustration into a motorbike’s way and was knocked down. It was in the process of helping her up and picking the pieces of her belongings that the car key was found. She had already lost herself before the key was found!

Many people lose themselves in search of what is missing in their lives.

Many lose their moral limb while searching for the “missing rib”!

Some lose their health while searching for material wealth.

I know those who lost their message while searching for relevance and sponsors.

Some lose their marriage while searching for a mirage.

Some have lost their integrity while looking for affinity.

Don’t get missing because something was lost. Sometimes, you just need to ignore the emotional missing link so you can remain spiritually connected.

Don’t lose your mind because the job is lost.

Don’t lose your children while searching for their school fees.

Don’t lose your mantle while searching for a title.

When those things are eventually discovered or acquired, greater things (yourself, relationship, character, values & virtues) would have probably dissolved!

When you eventually hammer that deal, will your nail still be strong enough to hold the woods of your integrity in a proper frame?

By the time you get popular, will you not be strange to dignity?

By the time you get that visa or fame, will your passport to purity not have been torn?

When you eventually make the money, will your marriage/friendship/relationships still have meaning?

Ponder on these….

Stay blessed…

WHERE IS OUR INTELLECT?

It beats my imagination that some people that are supposedly enlightened would derive joy in misinforming the ignorant. Very pathetic.

It was reported that a Reporter asked the Representative of World Bank in a forum what the Institution is doing to North Eastern ravaged by the evil activities of Boko Haram. In response, the World Bank Rep told the reporter that they are on course as the President even told them to shift focus attention to the North. Although the news didn’t quote the World Bank Chief with their achievements in the North as a whole or North East in particular, those that enjoy everything bad about PMB immediately went to town to insult the President with all manner of names.
In the last 17 months.

We are yet to know what the world bank has really done for the north. Buhari Fault Finders Association of Nigeria aka WailingWailers, pls help us with the list of northern projects

*CORRUPTION IN THE ARMY EXPOSED: A BRAVE SOLDIER FROM OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE WRITES PRESIDENT BUHARI AN OPEN LETTER.*

His Excellency,

President Muhammadu Buhari,

Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Arrmed Forces,

Presidential Villa,

Abuja.

Your Excellency,

Having read the online correspondence between Dr. Idris Ahmed of CUPS and our Army spokesman, Brigadier Generral S.K. Usman, I have decided to take a major risk and write to your Excellency directly over this issue.

Sir, I am a course-mate of Pvt. Abdulrauf Aliyu, who Oga S.K. claimed that he has gone AWOL. We trained at the same company, Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria, Kaduna State. We are presently posted to Operation LAFIYA DOLE. On behalf of all the colleagues of Pvt. Abdulrauf Aliyu, I categorically refute the allegation that Pvt. Abdulrauf Aliyu deserted the Army. The Sections 59 – 63 of the Armed Forces Act, Cap A20, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, as quoted by Oga S.K., has always been mentioned by our superiors, to protect themselves and antagonise us, whenever they have done mischief.

Your Excellency, the case of Pvt. Abdulrauf Aliyu is actually not an isolated one. There are many such cases of soldiers who got wounded at the battlefront. It is true, some are well looked after, as mentioned by Oga S.K. Usman in his press release. Unfortunately, due to corruption in the system, some unfortunate soldiers, mostly from less privileged backgrounds, are left to fend for themselves. Like myself, Pvt. Abdulrauf Aliyu comes from a humble family. He sustained life threatening injuries in the abdomen during a routine operation. The initial first aid treatment and medical care that he received was very inadequate. With full Army permission, Pvt Abdulrauf Aliyu and his family paid for his transfer to University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital. Unfortunately, the care he received in Maiduguri Teaching Hospital too was inadequate. Eventually, his family had to pay for his transfer to a specialist facility in Sokoto.

Your Excellency, corruption in the Army is REAL, and it is killing us. Every man and woman who decided to join the Army knows the risks. While we expect to die in the hands of the enemy, we don’t expect to die in the hands of the Nigerian Army, due to corruption and criminal negligence. They send the northern soldiers to the south to enjoy, why the southern soldier are left to die in the hands of boko Haram & hunger in yobe .

Just the other week, about 14 (I am not sure of the exact numbers) of our colleagues died in the hands of Boko Harram, who attacked the Army camp. The circumstances surrounding their unnecessary death warrants a full investigation by his Excellency. Sir, you will be shocked of the outcome. The bodies of the slain heroes are still lying here in Damaturu, Yobe State. The story of this incidence has hardly been officially published by the Army or Nigerian media.

Your Excellency, this is the third month in a row that we have been denied of our operations allowance. We have to rely ONLY on our meager salary for everything. From battalion commanders, to Company and Sectors leaders, we are all in debt, because our salaries are not enough to sustain us at the battlefront while feeding our families back at home. It is a big shame that we have joined the Army to defend the civilians, yet we have to go to the civilians in town to borrow money to fend for ourselves at the battlefront.

Take for instance the food that we are fed. Most of the times it is not fit for human consumption. I attach for your perusal, your Excellency, the lunch that was fed to us this afternoon (3/11/2017). As you can clearly see, there is not a single piece of meat or fish in it. The taste of the food is so bad that we have to add surplus salt to be able to eat it. This is also dangerous for our health. A plate of our food per soldier is probably about two hundred Naira (N200).

It is said that the Federal Government spends about fourteen thousand Naira (N14,000) on each prisoner in Nigeria. Here, at the battlefront in Operation LAFIYA DOLE, the Army spends about six hundred Naira (N600) per day per soldier on feeding us, while in reality billions of Naira is appropriated per year for this purpose. Your Excellency, we are treated like animals. Most of us are afraid to talk because of the dire consequence.

As the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, your Excellency, kindly investigate. There is corruption in the Army. Brave soldiers are needlessly dying.

ATIKU INSTALLED THE SENATE PRESIDENT – Obasanjo.

“Without seeking my view or approval, he started planning the installation of Chuba Okadigbo as the Senate president. I did a background check on Chuba including his past as a student and made inquiries about him in the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) under (President Shehu) Shagari and no one would recommend him for the post of Senate president.

“I left Atiku to go on his chase while I carried out a meticulous and detailed investigation and background check on each senator from the South-east. The one that appeared most appointable was Evan Enwerem. I canvassed the senate across the board for his election and he was elected. Atiku did not expect it and he felt sore.

“He began to strategise for Enwerem to be removed and Chuba Okadigbo to be installed. His strategy worked because I was at Abuja airport to receive a visiting head of state when the news reached me that the Senate had impeached Enwerem and elected Okadigbo.

I was not perturbed. I came to understand from some senators including Florence Ita-Giwa, who later became my Special Adviser/ Liaison Officer to the National Assembly, that Atiku distributed US$5,000 each to some senators to carry out the ‘coup’.

“That was the beginning of bribing the legislature to carry out a particular line of action to suit or satisfy the purpose or desire of an individual or a group. The National Assembly had tasted blood and they would continue to want more. From the day I nominated Atiku to be my vice, he set his mind not for any good, benefit or service of the country, but on furiously planning to upstage, supplant or remove me at all cost and to take my place.

ATIKU WANTED TO KILL ME TO BECOME PRESIDENT- SAYS OBASANJO.

“From the day I nominated Atiku to be my vice, he set his mind not for any good, benefit or service of the country, but on furiously planning to upstage, supplant or remove me at all cost and to take my place.

“That was what I brought him for, but he was impatient and over-ambitious. He was not ready to learn and to wait. His marabout, who predicted that despite being elected as governor, he would not be sworn in as a governor, which happened, also assured him that he would take over from me in a matter of months rather than years.

“All his plans, appointments of people and his actions were towards the actualisation of his marabout’s prediction. Once I realised his intention and programme, I watched him like a hawk without giving any indication of what I knew and letting down my guard. I could not succumb to the distraction, diversion and malevolence of an ambitious but unwise deputy.

“The work in hand was more important than a confrontational relationship with my deputy, a man over whom I knew I had far more experience and outreach in all matters. To alert him of what I knew he was up to, would only lead to lying, denial, more mischievous plans and more duplicity on his part.

“He was better managed that way. What was important was not allowing myself to be surprised or outmanoeuvred by him. I must always seize the initiative and know what was going on if not in his mind, but at least in his camp. That I did very effectively.

“Sometime in the fourth quarter of 2004, an associate of Atiku came to my residence at the Aso Villa from Atiku’s official residence. He felt uncomfortable and I tried to make him feel at ease. Then, he settled to tell me the story of what had just transpired in Atiku’s residence. I listened with rapt attention.

“He went on to say that Atiku told him that for him to become the President of Nigeria, the 2007 elections were only a formality.

“The seven ingredients he needed for his enthronement were already in his hands. He controlled the National Assembly because both the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives were in his pocket. He controlled twenty-eight out of thirty-six governors. He had control of the media. His influence over the judiciary was overwhelming.

“What he needed was foreign endorsement and for that he had employed two lobby groups in the US and one in the UK. And finally, the money for the elections was in his purse.

“When the man finished, I thanked him without passing any comment. The man was surprised at my reaction and asked, ‘You have nothing to say to these?’ I said that I had nothing to say and I immediately called my ADC, Chris Jemitola, to play a game of squash with me.

“On our way to the squash court with my ADC, I said, ‘People at times make plans and leave God out of their plans.’ My casual remark struck Chris and he said, ‘Sir, that was a profound statement.’ I said that I made the statement because of what I had just heard of Atiku’s plan. I was not convinced he had put God in his plans.

“Atiku was confident and God was laughing. Most of Atiku’s ingredients soon started to fall out of place one by one. The first was the party, PDP.

“He thought I was powerless and had no clue about the execution of his plan with his group; part of his attack on me was for national chairman of the party to give the first salvo, then other things would follow as his grip on the party would be firm and consolidated.

“That salvo came in the form of a letter to me from the chairman of the party, Audu Ogbeh, who had fully defected with (Iyorchia) Ayu to Atiku.

“The letter, which was not the product of any issue or matter discussed with or at any party meeting, came suddenly. When I received it, I could read the sinister intention behind it.

“I spent that night writing my reply and I sent it in the morning. My reply was clear. I wondered why Atiku and his group did not realise that with my reply, the battle line was clear or maybe they thought that the seven ingredients would remain intact to the end.

“My assistants had moles within the Atiku group. Anything that they planned would be reported. That was the case after Ogbeh’s letter. They decided that Ogbeh should appear remorseful and come with the National Working Committee to apologise to me. It was not from their hearts, but to lure me to a ‘killing ground’.

“All pieces of information that were reported were verified because it would not come from only one informant.

“Timely information is a very important principle of war and also of politics. In politics, just as in war, what matters is not just your plan, but knowledge of your opponent’s plan. Knowing their plan, I had the choice of playing along with them or being firm, I chose the latter.

“I told Ogbeh that my relationship with him as national chairman and me as national leader of the party was based on mutual confidence and trust. But with his letter, my reply and what I knew of him then, I could no longer work with him in confidence and trust.

“There were only two choices left for both of us in our best interest and that of the party – he, leaves as chairman or I leave as leader of the party.

“The following Sunday, I called at his house, which I had done on several occasions in the past when there was an important party matter to discuss. This time, I asked him to give me an undated letter of resignation as the national chairman.

“I waited, he gave me but it was wrongly addressed to me rather than to the national secretary of the party as stipulated in the party’s constitution.

“Ogbeh reported to his group and it was decided by them to play on and to wait for my disgrace whenever I presented a letter of resignation not addressed to the national secretary.

“The informants did their job and I, once again, paid another visit to Ogbeh at his residence. He entertained me to a meal and drink, and changed the addressee on his letter of resignation.”*OBJ speaks*
