YOU MAY SPIT ON THE BIBLE BUT THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES

In 1776, Voltaire, the French philosopher, announced, “One hundred years from my day, there will not be a Bible in the earth except one that is looked upon by an antiquarian curiosity-seeker.” One hundred years later Voltaire was dead and his own press and house were being used to print and store Bibles by the Geneva Bible Society. One hundred years from the day of Voltaire’s prediction, the first edition of his work sold for eleven cents in Paris, but the British government paid the Czar of Russian one-half million dollars for an ancient Bible manuscript.
Whoever spits at Jesus should expect a spittle bath.

Professorial Lies (of Farooq Kperogi )

There is a growing effort to deodorize the consistent, recurring and habitual attitude of Dr. Kperogi to peddle fake news and share concocted stories and lies. The truth is: Kperogi is a purveyor and enabler of fake news, no amount of revisionism and whitewashing can change this fact. A cursory look into his both Twitter and Facebook posts can attest to it. Herein are seven (by no means exhaustive) professorial lies:

  1. September 2016, Dr. Kperogi had it from an impeccable source that the Aso Villa Clinic 2017 budget was more than the combined budget of all the 16 Teaching Hospitals in Nigeria. When his attention was drawn to the factual error of his statement, it earned Garba Shehu the tag of an incapable spokesman. The sad thing is Garba Shehu was Kperogi’s teacher during his undergrad. Dr. Salisu Shehu, I vividly recalled, tried to make him see reason why it was inappropriate to talk that way to his teacher…well, he was also tagged a glorified quota-system professor.
  2. Dr. Kperogi concocted a well-spiced lie that President Buhari spent 6million pounds to treat ear infection in London. It was a barefaced lie. Dr. Mustapha and Dr. Ibrahim Gumel tried in vain to make him recant his position or confirmed it (beyond reasonable doubt) as the case may be, he did neither of the two, despite Garba Shehu’s clarification.
  3. Dr. Kperogi had it also from an authoritative sauce, sorry, source, that the botched Nigeria Air Logo was designed at the cost of 183 million Naira. He cited a none-existing firm in Bahrain as one of the ‘Transaction Advisers’ as his source. When his attention was drawn to the inaccuracy of the information, and the fact that the said firm was not even among the listed and certified ‘Transaction Advisers’, Dr. Kperogi adopted a deaf and dumb posture. He neither apologised nor recant his position, despite impeccable evidences brought to his attention.
  4. In his self-appointed position as the Chief Executive Officer of holding President Buhari’s administration to its feet (a worthy course I must admit), he shared a Kannywood movie scene where one actor, wearing Nigeria’s Army camouflage uniform, were shown crying over the death of his colleague, as Nigeria’s Army fighting Boko Haram in the Northeast. Again, when he was accused of peddling false information, his defense was: he was busy and could not run a reverse search of the picture on Google. So much for due diligence by a journalism professor.
  5. Few months after President Buhari was declared winner of the 2019 general elections, Dr. Kperogi wrote a WhatsApp message and sent it to himself. In the said message, he concocted a lie only a person of his moral and intellectual standing can believe. He said and I quote: a friend in the security sector expressed concern over your safety as a result of possibility of a plot by the Buhari regime/cabal to assassinate you in the state. Curiously enough, as a US citizen/resident, Dr. Kperogi didn’t report that threat to the FBI.
  6. At the heat of the 2019 elections, Dr. Kperogi yet again concocted another fat lie to heat the polity. He was so certain of his lie. He declared with all sense of certitude that President Buhari has FINALLY murdered Col. Sambo Dasuki. Again, when he was accused of sharing fake news he mentioned a Whatsapp audio as his source.
  7. In its investigative report, fact-checking social media influencers who shared fake news during Nigerian general elections, International Centre For Investigative Reporting, Dr. Kperogi’s name appeared twice, sharing unverified, fake videos as an authoritative evidence of rigging by INEC during the 2019 elections. Against all overwhelming pieces of evidence, Dr. Kperogi instead of being remorseful and apologise for sharing fake videos, tagged the report as “….a tendentious, poorly written, inaccurate screed”, having “crying factual poverty and malicious ignorance”. Incredible! If Dr. Kperogi isn’t a purveyor of fake news I don’t know who is.

You see, you don’t need to like Buhari for you to uphold facts. All you need is to be a decent human being who is principled and capable of carrying out due diligence before making pronouncements. And the fact that Dr. Kperogi is today being ridiculed, villified and laughed at has nothing to do with his unending but never rewarding tirades and tantrums against President Buhari but everything to do with his approach and mode of engagement. We expect some level of decorum, honesty and sincerity from a person of Dr. Kperogi’s standing. This, I think, isn’t too much to ask.

MY THOUGHT ON THE CHRISTMAS CONTROVERSY

MY THOUGHT ON THE CHRISTMAS CONTROVERSY

“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.”

Whether Christ was born on Christmas day or not is not the issue. The issue is He was born on a certain day to save humanity from the bondage of SIN and this is worth celebrating by those who know Him any day. All days belong to God.

We need to be aware that there is no day that was not ignorantly dedicated to a particular god in the past. For example Sunday was dedicated to the Sun god while Monday was dedicated to the Moon god . Each day derived its current name from a particular god.

Tuesday was dedicated to Tiw the god of war.

Wednesday was dedicated to the god Woden.

Thursday was dedicated to Thor the god of thunder.

Friday was dedicated to the goddess Frigg.

Saturday was dedicated to Saturn.

Do we then say we won’t rejoice in the Lord or worship God on any day at all because they were falsely dedicated to the so called gods in the past? No!

“1 Now concerning things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies.

2 And if any man thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.

3 But if any man loves God, the same is known by him.

4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.

5 FOR THOUGH THERE BE THOSE CALLED GODS, WHETHER IN HEAVEN OR IN EARTH, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

6 BUT TO US THERE IS BUT ONE GOD, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” (1Cor 8:1-6)

The devil created nothing and he owns nothing. Let this truth set you free.

In any case, I am still collecting Christmas chicken and turkey. 🍗🍗

Merry Christmas!

PMB at 77: ‘Please tell Baba we are with him all the way’ By FEMI ADESINA

I boarded a commercial airliner heading to Lagos from Abuja. I was already seated, and strapping my seat belt, when a young man approached me. He must have been in his late 20s, or at most, early 30s. I shook hands, greeted him warmly, and he slipped something in my palm. He went back to his seat.
It was a piece of paper, and on it was written: “Please, tell Baba we are with him all the way.”
My eyes became misty. I knew who he was talking about. My principal and Baba of the country, President Muhammadu Buhari, who turns 77 today.
“Please, tell Baba we are with him all the way.” What a message! What confidence! What love! And what reassurance.
At times, if you listen to the Babel of voices in the country, particularly on social media and some critical segment of the traditional media, you think everything is all wrong with the land. You think it’s all sorrow tears and blood, the regular trade mark of failed or failing countries.
The biblical prophet, Elijah, felt at a time that he was the only true prophet of God left in Israel. And he complained to God: they have all followed Baal, the strange god. I am the only one left with you.

But God gave him a tutorial: you only think so. I have for me in this land 7,000 other prophets, who have not bowed the knees to Baal.
That was what happened in that aircraft. The young man who slipped the note into my hand is like millions upon millions of quiet Nigerians, “who have not bowed the knees to Baal.” People who love President Muhammadu Buhari, who appreciate that he is here for such a time as this, and who believe that he is leading us to a new Nigeria, a land flowing with milk and honey. I believe. I am in the number of millions of people, who daily wish Buhari well, and pray that he will lead the land to fair havens, halcyon shores, before 2023.
If all the information you consume is from social media, and the critical segment of the traditional media, you will likely miss the correct pulse of the country. Let me share an experience here.
Some months before the 2019 general elections, I ran into Governor Nasir El-Rufai in the Presidential Villa, as he was going in to see the President. We greeted warmly, and I asked if he could please stop by in my office on the way out. He promised to do so.
What was my worry? The trend on social media, as to how the elections would go. I had a broader view of the reality, but I needed some reassurance. And I knew El-Rufai was analytical, and constantly had statistics at his fingertips. He’s not a first class quantity surveyor for nothing.
The governor turned up. I unfolded my worries, and asked for his opinion. He merely opened his laptop computer, and shared the result of a scientific research with me.
What did the research say? With large sample size from across the country, and painstaking state by state analysis, it stated that President Buhari was going to beat his closest opponent by millions of votes. And wait for this: the social media would account for just between nine and 11 percent of the votes. And wait again: that percentage would not go to one party alone. It would be shared between the two leading political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). It turned quite prophetic.
The young man in the plane is among the millions of Nigerians who tilted the scale. They know that Nigeria is not where she should be, not yet, but it is not business as usual. There is one man who is laboring hard to turn the country right side up. He is Muhammadu Buhari, and the journey may be tedious, arduous and slow, but we are headed in the right direction.
Friends, Nigerians, countrymen. Yes, I have come to celebrate Muhammadu Buhari, as he turns 77 today. See the sycophant, the fanatic, some people would say. But do I mind them? I don’t. I have chosen my own hero, let them choose theirs. As we say in local parlance, ‘say your prayers, and let me say amen. No quarrel for church.’
I have said it before, and I say it again. I have followed Buhari since he was a military ruler, when I was an undergraduate, and if that regime had lasted for longer, Nigeria would not be in the doldrums that she found herself. It was a tough administration, but which was leading us on the right path. Till forces of reaction struck, and we were back to worse than square one.
You could imagine my joy when Buhari eventually emerged civilian President after 12 years of struggle. I didn’t think I was going to ever serve in government, but I found myself in it. Just because it was Buhari. More than four years down the line, have I changed my mind? No. Is it a perfect government? There’s none anywhere. But I still remain a Buharist, just like millions of other Nigerians.
I know many people who started with us in the Buhari camp, but who are now on the other side. Some were were lured away by the garlic, cucumber, onions and leeks of Egypt, while some others jumped ship because of the color of the currency they saw. Some others, who expected quick fixes, are now singing the Lord’s song in a strange land. Some others are vacillating between many opinions. But for some of us, it is the immortal words of Sir Walter Scott: “Other people’s resolutions may fluctuate on the wild and changeful billows of human opinions. Our’s, now and forever, are anchored on the rock of ages.”
Why are we dyed-in-the-wool Buharists? Is he a perfect, infallible man? Show me who is. So, why do we remain resolute, irrespective of what people on the other side see as foibles and failings of the administration? Many reasons.
Buhari is not a thief. Can you say the same of many past leaders in this country? No, you can’t. I’m not saying they’ve all been light fingered, but we know those who served us honestly, and those who stole the living daylights out of the country. They and their confederates.
When I then see a honest man, the Mai Gaskiya, should I not follow him? Should I not trek from here to China for his sake? I would even trek further from Beijing to Yokohama. Larceny and plunder have been bane of our country. That was why we were consigned in gross backwardness and underdevelopment. Now that I see a man who has come to make a difference, I choose to stand by him all the way.
We know people who were worth only thousands when they got into leadership positions in this country. But they came out in obscene wealth. In other words, they went not to serve the country, but themselves. And here is Muhammadu Buhari, a man who wants nothing from Nigeria, but who has come to empty himself in the service of the country. And some people say we are fanatical supporters? Yes, for the sake of our country. For the future of our children. For the good of ordinary people, we are Buharists.
Simplicity. President Buhari is a Muslim, a good one, and I am a Christian, trying daily to be a good one. I see him at close quarters. At home, in the office, in the country, out of it. What a simple man. He holds power with simplicity. He eats simply. Wears the most modest things. No swashbuckling, no ostentation. And when we talk privately, I love when he indicates that he’s in a temporal position, which he wants to use for the good of the larger majority of Nigerians. That’s why I’m a Buharist, and no apologies.
Abhorrence of corruption. I said it before. President Buhari is not a thief, and he cannot vouch for you if you are tarred with the brush of corruption. You will simply be on your own. There is the jaded talk of the anti-corruption war in the land being selective. Well, those who say that are merely operating from a mindset. No matter who you are, however close you can be to him, when it comes to corruption, this President speaks up for no one. That is why the anti-corruption agencies are making conquests. He tele-guides them in no way.
An eye on history. That’s where the President keenly focuses. He wants to be positively remembered as a man who came, who saw, and made a difference. That’s why the country is one big construction site. Roads, rail, airports, power, water projects, and many others. Nigeria must get a new lease of life, and history must record it that the revolution started under one man: Muhammadu Buhari.
A kind man. Don’t mind the names you hear. Tyrant. Iron fist. Military ruler. Violator of rule of law. Major General (as if he’s not one). And many others. But you know what? This President is a kind man.
In 2015, some months into office, a proposal was thrown up at a meeting. The civil service was unwieldy, the economy was down, and salaries were being paid through the noses. It may well be time to cut the civil service strength by half, since most of them were even idle.
But the idea didn’t sell. The President said if he had his way, not a single civil servant would be sent home due to rationalization. Things were tough enough for them, not to add loss of jobs. And so it happened.
When labor unions came some years later to agitate for higher pay, the President first balked. He said it was not sustainable, which was the truth. But eventually, he buckled, due to a kind heart, and new wages are being paid at serious cost to government.
Let me say this, with the presumed permission of the President. He kept the Service Chiefs he inherited in 2015 for a couple of months. And when it was time to let them go, he sent for me one afternoon. He gave me the names of the new appointees, and told me not to announce till the next day.
“I have informed the outgoing Service Chiefs some minutes ago. But I don’t want their families to hear the news over radio or television. I want them to get home, and break the news themselves,” the President said.
I told him we would not be

able to keep the news under wraps till the next day, that it should rather be announced immediately. He looked at me, laughed, and said: “You have not been sacked before. That’s why you are talking that way. Me, I’ve been sacked from office before, and I know how it feels.” We laughed.
When the chief executive of a major corporation was also going to be replaced, he gave me the new name, and said I should not announce for an hour or two, so that the outgoing man would have received his letter, and not hear it from the media.
Many acts of kindness have I seen the President shown to many, and also to me, yet some people want to call him strange names. And I should believe it? I hear!
On this auspicious day, I celebrate our President. Cynics and scoffers would say why won’t you applaud him since you are part of the largesse of office. Yes, I hold office under the President, but I am yet to see the largesse. Maybe tomorrow. Or day after. And whether in government or out of it, count me among those who believe.
I am a Buharist. So are also millions of Nigerians. We thank God for bringing him our way. May his strength be renewed daily. He’s our miracle man, whom nobody could have predicted two years ago would still be with us today. We love him because he first loved us, and is serving us with all that is in him. Like that young man in the aircraft, “Please, tell Baba we are with him all the way.”

Between A Self Righteous Liar, Truth, Fiction and a matter of credibility George Onmonya Daniel

Anybody can say anything but who is saying it and for what purpose at a particular time matters. Olusegun Obasanjo’s new book, My Watch, mean different thing to different people. For Goodluck Jonathan’s enemies it is the ultimate truth and for Goodluck Jonathan’s supporters it is Obasanjo being Obasanjo and the old senile power monger shouldn’t be taken seriously. I haven’t read the book but I have seen quotes on Facebook where Obasanjo refer to the Nigerian President as imcompetent in all ramifications and Nasir El-Rufai as a brilliant chap but dishonest and a liar.

In a civilized clime, a lot of people will not take Olusegun Obasanjo seriously considering the scandal he was involved in recently. The first being the letter he sent to the press of which he accused President Goodluck Jonathan of training snippers to take out political opponents and the letter his daughter wrote him accusing him of being a very bad father, womaniser and a selfish who doesn’t care about his family. If you recall, his son Gbenga also accused him of having an affairs with his wife. This simply is the height if irresponsibilty, but we don’t bother about such things Nigeria. In my view Obasanjo lacks credibility to take things he said seriously.

He is vindictive and a man who would say or do anything to get what he wants or to discredit anyone to get what he wants from them. While, with President Goodluck Jonathan he isn’t getting what he wants. But like I said, I haven’t read Obasanjo’s book but I have a thing or two I want to say about Obasanjo.

I am not a fan of Baba Iyabo. No. I think he should have handed Nigeria to the likes of Nuhu Ribadu and Nasir El-Rufai before he left office, that is if he must handover to the Hausa/Fulani North. He went for Umar Musa Yar’adua out of selfish interest so that he wouldn’t be prosecuted if he was found wanting. He choses Umar Musa Yar’adua because they are family friends and because he knew no matter what, Unar would not protect him. Now he is saying Umar lied about his age in his book My Watch. Whether Umar lied or not, he should have checked. Then Obasanjo handpicked Goodluck Jonathan and put him there as Vice President. You know what happened after that. Now he is calling his prodigy incompetent. Is this not ridiculous?

Because I haven’t read the book I wouldn’t say much but I must add why now? Why two months before election? This is Olusegun Obasanjo trying to be in a dimming light as his light is slowly quenches. The man has to be in the limelight. He would do anything to court attention. However, I wouldn’t say the book didn’t address some things about this Nigeria, a Nigeria of mediocrity created by opportunists and profiteers like Olusegun Obasanjo.

100 YEARS FROM NOW !!!

100 years from now will be the year 2119. By then, every single reader of this piece will be underground, our bodies having become part of the soil. During that time, our fate in respect to paradise or hell would have been made known to us.*

*Meanwhile above the soil, our houses that were left behind would have become either homes for others or demolished for better structures. Our clothes would have become destroyed or rags for others and replaced by more recent trends; our cars will be on display as historical artifacts by others or recycled for more advanced technology. But for us, we will be, for the most part, never thought about by anyone again. Think of it, how often do you think about your great grandfather? How often does your great grandmother cross your mind?. You see!

*Our presence here on earth today, that presence that we make so much noise about and shed so many tears for, was preceded by countless generations before us and shall be followed by countless generations after us Jesus tarries. Every generation that passes through this world barely finds the time to take a glance at the world, before needing to bid it farewell and handing over the baton, having not fulfilled even a fraction of their ambitions. Our lives are, in reality, far shorter than we imagine.*

*In 2119, every one of us will realise from within the grave just how worthless this world actually was, and how trivial those dreams were that we centred on*.

*In 2119, every one of us will be wishing that we had dedicated our lives to great matters of GOD, doing His bid, and devoted ourselves to doing good deeds, particularly those that continue to benefit us after our death*.

*In 2119, some reading this piece will be screaming out, but in vain:*

*“Lord return me! Give me another chance, so that I may have another opportunity to live for you ..”*

*The response to this request, however, shall be:*

*“No! and behind them is now a barrier until that Great Day.”*

*In 2119, many will be in regret, saying:*

*“I wish that I had prepared for life after my journey on earth.”*

*Let us reappraise ourselves*, for surely what happened to those we talk of, heard of and read of will surely happen to us. Let us take advantage of today while it is called TODAY. Tomorrow is not yours yet until it comes. Accepting the sacrifice of Jesus and keeping our faith in Him, is the ONLY way out. I hereby humbly appeal to every honorable member of this noble platform to use this opportunity to share this important message to your contacts as part of your personal EVANGELISM. and live your life on this planet earth wisely, May the Almighty God help us, in Jesus’ name.

*WE WILL ALL DIE Someday. Death is inevitable and an exit to eternal life*
Copied.
Compliment of the season to us all and much love from here.

The role of Kenneth Copeland in Reinhard Bonnke’s ministry

If you mention the name of Keneneth Copeland, some of us will call him a thief because he has several private jets…

If you mention the name of Reinherd Bonkee, some of us will call him a saint because he had no private jet and was giving out free books to people in Africa …

But do you know that Kenneth Copeland was one of the biggest financial sponsors of all the crusades Of Reinherd Bonkee?…

His money was part of the money that paid for all those hundreds of millions of free books, large posters and mighty billboards over these decades? …

Do you know that, Perhaps, if not for Kenneth Copeland, you and I would never had known Reinherd Bonkee …and the 70plus million souls might never have come …

Friends, this journey get as e be ooo…

Do you know that one woman that died of cold in the streets of Minnesota while working to raise money to support missions work might receive more crown that those we saw on pulpits?…

That is why long ago, I have thrown away the pen I use to use to help God write the names of those I think are not making heaven.

I no do again!

As we are celebrating this great man that modelled the gospel of Christ to generations to come, heaven is also celebrating all those that were sensitive enough to allow God use them to make the ministry of this man efficient…

If you think it is easy, check how you struggle when you want to send some one just 10k…

Ask yourself how much that has left your account to sponsor God’s work any where in the world…

It’s not easy, friends…

Kenneth Copeland and other sponsors denied themselves a lot, sponsoring these crusade for decades…

I was there Live one of the first times he visited Aba in the late 1980s ABA CITY WIDE CRUSADE…

I saw native doctors,,prostitutes and arm robbers, rushing back home to surrender their charms and guns to the nearest churches… They grew till they became Sunday school teachers and pastors…

Till today, some of them are still burning for Jesus…

As we are thanking God for Pa Reinhrrd Bonkee…let us also thank God for Kenneth Copeland and all those that took care of these Bills that ran into tens of hundreds of million dollars…

Why won’t Reinherd Bonkee be as anointed as he was?
Why won’t the dead rise when he came to Onitsha?…
Why won’t too many crippled people threw away their clutches and started walking when he came to Umuahia…

When there are people paying the bills praying looks like picnic… And OIL must increase …

Personally, I know many mighty, genuine and passionate crusaders that folded their movements because there was no money for the bills…

You don’t know how Satan is celebrating their withdrawal from the mission fields…

This testimony is a very ugly reality …

For me, I have made my choice…
The narrative will change in our time…

2020, by the grace of God, I will foot the bills of one or two genuine evangelistic works going on in any part of the world…

Please, Jesus, see my heart and please, put the resources in my hand… Evangelists must go back to field again in our time…

I don’t know about you, friend…

Just know that It will be a shame to us if we watch our passionate evangelists who are called to be in the field turn to mega church overseers, rolling out handbills and posters every week…

Dragging members with other churches nearby so that they will have mega churches, when they should be in the field making Jesus known to the heathen…

Sister, if we have more Kenneth Copeland, we will have more Reinherd Bonkee…

There is a potential Reinherd Bonkee close to you…

May God use you to bring him out to limelight where he or she will win more souls to Christ…

May God use your church, company or family to partner with others to sponsor their evangelistic penchant…

You and your generation will never finish reaping from it…

May God keep us all… In Jesus Name…

The Time Is Now.

5 Eating Habits That Can Cause Diabetes By TheHerald Admin

With everyone having to deal with so many things every single minute, it gets really hard to think before indulging into anything. Let’s face it, good food makes one feel good. This fact combined with the very virtue of tasty dishes, it is sort of impossible to develop healthy eating habits. However, one must always observe caution with prevention being better than cure. The following are eating habits that can cause diabetes.

1. Skipping Breakfast

Who doesn’t know about ‘Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper’? Sad as it may sound, you know you have a messed up this schedule, as a result of which, you pig out at night and often rush to your morning chores consuming nothing more than a glass of orange juice. This leads to high chances of obesity, which in-turn causes diabetes.

2. Having a Sweet Tooth

So you love to eat everything sweet, eh? Milk chocolates and tiramisu make you drool? You need to know what is your sugar limit and how much is safe for you to consume. On top of consuming sugary treats, if you are not burning them off, it is highly probable that it will lead to diabetes.

3. Attraction towards Fast Food

Or pizzas, or panini, or pancakes, or fried chicken. You get the drift? If you consume extremely oily and greasy food, you have a high chance of developing type 2 diabetes. Cut on all the tasty sinful things and find healthier alternatives like food cooked in olive oil, low fat cheese, tofu and such other alternatives.

4. Binging unnecessarily

Binging is never good. The kind of calories your body stores when you binge is unreal. Your body immediately goes into fat storing mode and while you feel good about yourself eating all that tasty food, your body probably goes towards diabetes.

5. Irregular eating routine

If you do not eat at least thrice a day and then eat six meals the other day and then don’t eat at all, and continue to follow a bizarre pattern of consuming food; your body gets confused and does not know how to deal with this. Chances are you are eating anything but home cooked meals then, and that you know, will lead to diseases like diabetes.

Popular Christian
drama veteran, Mike
Bamiloye, of the
Mount Zion Film

unleashed a missile
against celebrity
pastors and their
penchant for
bringing comedians to the altar as part of church
programmes and activities. Writing on his social
media handle, he said:
“I want to address Christians – ALL
denominations – this morning without prejudice!
For a long while I have questioned the inclusion
of COMEDY in Church events. What do I
question? The fact that the comedians brought in
are allowed to make jokes of scriptures, the Blood

grace etc.’ AND WE SIT THERE LAUGHING! What
are we laughing at? What is funny? Mocking God
and Christ and the Holy Spirit and the Word is
funny????
We hear of other religions where they are
obsessed with protecting the image of their
Leader and we gleefully allow people to MOCK
our Leader JESUS CHRIST and the Holy Spirit and
thereby indirectly MOCKING GOD!!! They look at
us with disdain because we are BAD
AMBASSADORS of our faith…
” to the pure all things are pure “, we must have
quoted .What we failed to see is the side effects
of entertainment:
– Lightness
– Looseness
– Loquaciousness
– The spirit of lasciviousness prevailed .
“Sad enough, recently I found myself laugh at one
of such instances ,and quickly I Checked myself ”
are you losing your mind ” I asked myself .
Comical jokes and ridiculous jokes poked at
scripturally awed activities!!!!!!
– Jokes about casting out demons ( when fewer
believers actually cast out Demons )
– Mockery about tongues ( called a
communication with the Father )
– Gifts of the spirit used as comedy and to
generate hilarity ( whereas fewer believers walk in
the gifts )
– Ministry of angels used as comical relief ..
– Judgment seat of Christ made to look like
theatre too.
– Most vitally, preachers of the gospels in humor
mannequin for laughs and fun.
The list goes on…What exactly is happening???
The Yorubas say ” it’s a bastard who uses his left
hand to describe his fathers house…”
A lot of pastors in Nigeria have created a religious
and comedy mix with a view to drawing a crowd to
preach to. Opinion is divided on the propriety of
this concept. But with a religious leader in the
mold of Mike Bamiloye condemning it out-rightly,
it remains to be seen what other notable pastors
like Paul Adefarasin of House On The Rock, Lekki,
Emmanuel Olumide of Calvary Bible Church, Idimu,
Ayo Oritsejafor of Word of Life Bible Church, Warri,
and a host of others will say about it
